This covers www.clearsummit.com and clearsumm.it. It is short on purpose, and it names every company that receives your data.

What we collect

If you fill in a form, we receive what you typed — your name, email address, company, and whatever you wrote about your situation — together with which page you arrived on and which page you were on when you sent it. We use it to answer you. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing.

If you only read, we receive ordinary web analytics: pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, browser and device type, and the site that referred you. Our funnel events record which options you clicked, never anything you typed and never anything that identifies you.

Who receives it

Three companies process data on our behalf. That is the complete list.

• Vercel hosts this website and provides its page analytics. Every visit passes through Vercel.
• Google receives page views and funnel events through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, which set cookies. No name, email address, company, or free text is ever sent to Google.
• Heroku, a Salesforce company, hosts the application that stores form submissions. This is the only processor that receives your name, email address, and what you wrote.

We will name any company we add to this list before it starts receiving anything.

Cookies

Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics set cookies to distinguish one visit from another. Most browsers accept cookies automatically and can be set to decline them. If you decline, the site still works; we simply see less about how it was used.

Your choices

Write to us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. There is no account to close and no mailing list to leave unless you asked to join one.

Children

This is a website about commercial software engineering. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this changes materially we will say so on this page rather than quietly revising it.
